Flash videos won't play, what do I do?

- If you are running Android version 4.1.x (Jellybean) or higher, then Flash support does not exist due to Adobe no longer maintaining the plugin (there's nothing we can do about this, sorry!). However, if you are using a version of Android older than 4.1.x, first, make sure you have installed the Adobe Flash Player Plugin from the Android Market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.adobe.flashplayer
- Second, make sure that you have plugins set to "Enabled" in Frost's preferences.
- Finally, set your User-Agent setting in Frost's preferences to "Desktop"
Some websites simply don't provide flash content that is compatible with mobile devices. If some videos work, but other videos won't, then it is likely an issue with the website. Please try accessing the content you are having problems with in the default android browser before contacting us for further help.

How do I backup and restore my stash in case I have to uninstall Frost or upgrade my device?

In the event you need to uninstall Frost, wipe your device, or move to a different device, it is possible to backup your stash, and restore it, without losing any data.

To Backup Your Stash:

1. First, hook your device up to a computer through USB and navigate to the folder: /Android/data/com.crowbar.beaverbrowser/ (if you have the lite version the folder is called com.crowbar.beaverlite).

2. Next, copy the entire contents of that folder to a safe spot on your computer. You have now successfully backed up your stash.

To Restore Your Stash:

1. Reinstall Frost if you haven't already done so.

2. Copy the files you backed up earlier back into the same location you originally copied then from.

3. When you start up Frost, your original stash should be available, using the password you originally set in the original installation.

I just bought Frost, how do I move my stashes from Frost Lite to the full version?

Make sure that Frost and Frost Lite are not open on your device, then plugin your device to USB and open the folder /Android/data/. You should see two folders, one named com.crowbar.beaverlite and another named com.crowbar.beaverbrowser.

1. Delete the folder com.crowbar.beaverbrowser (WARNING: This will delete any stash data you currently have in the full version of Frost)

2. Rename the folder com.crowbar.beaverlite to com.crowbar.beaverbrowser

3. Disconnect your device from USB

4. Open the full version of Frost, you should be able to access your stash using the same password you used in the Lite version.

I lost the contents of my stash, or my stash password just opens a google search, what do I do?

If your device isn't running Android 2.2 Froyo, then it's likely the SD card got wiped due to a device update or firmware change, changing SD cards, uninstalling/reinstalling Frost, or someone manually deleted the necessary files. It's also possible (although very unlikely) your stash became corrupted due to a device crash or closing the app during a critical operation, in which case recovery may be possible, please contact us for more help.

If you have recently updated Frost and your device runs Android 2.2 (Froyo) then you are likely the victim of a bug in Android that deletes stash data when Frost is updated. The only real solution to this issue is to upgrade your device to Android 2.3 or higher, where this bug has been fixed. Until then, be sure to backup your stash before updating Frost. Then after the update is complete, restore your stash using your backup. You can view instructions on how to backup and restore your stash inside of this FAQ.

I forgot the password to my stash, is there any way to recover it?

Stash password recovery is only available to users of the full version of Frost. Please email us at contact@crowbarsolutions.com and include the following two things:

1. The order number found in the receipt emailed to you when you purchased Frost+. If you can't find the receipt you can view your purchase history at payments.google.com and use the transaction ID found there.

2. Attach the file: /Android/data/com.crowbar.beaverbrowser/beaverbrowser from your device to the email. If the file is too large to attach to an email, use a free file attachment sending service such as http://www.toobigforemail.com/

We will then assist you with resetting your password.

I get "Error: Low memory" when trying to save an image.

Trying to save very large images may not be possible depending on how much RAM your device has. Restart the application and trying again, and if that doesn't work, transfer the image to your stash by using the "Import from SD" feature.

My device uses Android 2.2 why do I have to backup my stash before I update?

There is a bug in your version of Android that will wipe your stash if you update Frost. This is a bug that only Google or your device's manufacturer can fix. Until then, we recommend backing up your stash before updating Frost. Then after the update is complete, restore your stash using your backup. You can view instructions on how to backup and restore your stash inside of this FAQ. For more information about this bug see our blog post.
